अयोध्या: Ayodhya Shri Ram Hospital सदियों से अयोध्या के लोग भगवान राम से अपनी भलाई के लिए प्रार्थना करते रहे हैं, लेकिन शहर में एक और ‘श्री राम’ भी हैं जो 120 से अधिक वर्षों से गरीबों और बीमारों को राहत और सहायता प्रदान करते आ रहे हैं और उनके जख्मों का उपचार करते हैं। ऐतिहासिक विरासत को समेटे श्री राम अस्पताल (Ayodhya Shri Ram Hospital ) का भवन शहर के केंद्र में राम पथ से जुड़े व नवनिर्मित भव्य राम मंदिर से एक किलोमीटर से भी कम की दूरी पर स्थित है।

Ayodhya Shri Ram Hospital की इमारत के मुख्य ब्लॉक में एक दीवार पर लगी पुरानी संगमरमर की पट्टिका पर एक शिलालेख है, जिस पर लिखा है – ‘‘माननीय राय श्री राम बहादुर द्वारा अयोध्या के गरीबों के लिए निर्मित यह अस्पताल पांच नवंबर 1900 को शुरू किया गया था तब इसकी आधारशिला फैजाबाद मंडल के आयुक्त आईसीएस श्री जे हूपर द्वारा रखी गई थी।” शिलालेख में लिखा है कि इसे ‘‘12 अप्रैल 1902 को आगरा और अवध के संयुक्त प्रांत के लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर एचएच सर जेम्स डिग्स लाटूश, केसीएसआई ने सार्वजनिक उपयोग के लिए खोला था”।

एक अन्य पट्टिका पर हिंदी और उर्दू में वही शिलालेख अंकित है। अस्पताल के प्रशासनिक अधिकारी यश प्रकाश सिंह ने यहां ‘पीटीआई-भाषा’ को बताया, ‘‘यह अस्पताल क्योंकि अयोध्या में और राम जन्मभूमि स्थल के निकट स्थित है इसलिए बहुत बड़ी संख्या में लोग सोचते हैं कि इसका नाम प्रभु श्री राम के नाम पर रखा गया है। इसके संस्थापक श्री राम एक परोपकारी व्यक्ति थे, जिन्होंने इस अस्पताल की स्थापना की थी। अस्पताल में अयोध्या और फैजाबाद के साथ-साथ गोंडा और बस्ती जिलों से भी मरीज आते हैं।” उन्होंने कहा कि Ayodhya Shri Ram Hospital उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार के अधीन है और इलाज मुफ्त है। कई लोग ‘‘यह भी सोचते हैं कि यह एक निजी अस्पताल है”।

Ayodhya Shri Ram Hospital  को अब आधिकारिक तौर पर राजकीय श्री राम अस्पताल कहा जाता है। अपनी स्थापना के बाद से अस्पताल ने गरीबों और जरूरतमंदों की सेवा की है और राम मंदिर के निर्माण के साथ बदली अयोध्या की रंगत के बाद यह भी नए जोश के साथ चिकित्सा सेवा के जरूरतमंद श्रद्धालुओं की सेवा कर रहा है। राम मंदिर में प्राण प्रतिष्ठा समारोह 22 जनवरी को हुआ और आम जनता के लिए इसके कपाट 23 जनवरी को खोल दिए गए। तब से अब तक लाखों श्रद्धालु मंदिर में दर्शन कर चुके हैं।

सिंह ने कहा, ‘‘उद्घाटन के पहले दिन एक भक्त जो बेहोश हो गया था। उसे एम्बुलेंस में हमारे अस्पताल में लाया गया और उसे चिकित्सा सहायता दी गई, अन्य श्रद्धालु जिन्हें सांस लेने में समस्या की शिकायत थी, या जो भीड़ में घायल हो गए थे, उनकी भी देखभाल की गई।” अस्पताल राम मंदिर परिसर की ओर जाने वाले मुख्य सजावटी प्रवेश द्वार से पैदल दूरी पर स्थित है। 120 बिस्तरों वाले श्री राम अस्पताल के प्रशासनिक अधिकारी ने कहा, ‘‘पहले अस्पताल की पुरानी इमारत का रंग गुलाबी था। लेकिन राम पथ के किनारे की इमारतों के समान स्वरूप के अनुरूप इसका रंग हाल में बदलकर पीला कर दिया गया।”
